I’ve grown up all my life in Barrington, Rhode Island. It’s my home and the only place that I truly feel comfortable in. My family lives here, my friends, and it’s where I met my husband too. It’s as much apart of me as… well… me. For my birthday, however, my husband decided that he wanted to take me on a trip. I packed my bags without even knowing where we were going and boarded the plane with him by my side. On the plane, as we were sitting there bored to death, he suddenly handed me a present, saying it was for my big four-one. I opened it up and found a beautiful new IPOD. It was so amazing! He’d even downloaded all of my favorite songs and put them on the IPOD for our trip! Speaking of the trip, when the plane pulled into Hawaii I was even more shocked. Could life really be so amazing? We skipped out of the plane and started rushing all over the place, taking in the sights and just generally trying to see as much as we could before going back to the hotel room. When the day had finally ended, however, and we were resting peacefully in our room, I pulled out my IPOD and started listening to it. I must have dozed off because the next thing that I became aware of my husband settling onto the bed, the sudden absence of music, and a rather loud “uh oh”. I opened my eyes and found my husband staring down at my IPOD, a large crack splitting the screen in half. Uh oh was right. I asked him what had happened and he said he squished it but that things would be okay. He told me not to worry about anything and then jumped onto the internet. I assumed he was going to look up some kind of IPOD parts company and settled back to sleep. In the morning he said he was going to mail out my IPOD so the IPOD repair company could install an IPOD LCD replacement screen. I didn’t have any qualms whatsoever, so I let him package up the device and send it out. In a couple of weeks – just before we were leaving, we got a package that I knew was my IPOD come home. I tore open the box and found it, as good as new. I don’t know who my husband had sent it to, but they did such an excellent job. And they were so quick about things too! I was really relieved to see find my repair IPOD in working order again and listened to it throughout the day – just to make sure things were totally okay.
