When I went off to college, my parent's decided to arm me with all of the latest equipment. I got a brand new laptop for my homework and note-taking, a new cell phone to make sure I stayed in touch, and - maybe my most favored item of all - an IPOD TOUCH to entertain me while I studied between classes. I was ecstatic and so grateful for the gifts, but it didn't take me long to understand just how essential they were in the college world. My laptop became invaluable in my studies, that was sure; my cell phone helped me connect with my classmates; and my IPOD helped me retain some decent amount of sanity while I scrambled around the campus like a chicken with it's head cut off. You see, I had spent my childhood in Barnsdall, Oklahoma, a good old country town with values that taught hard, physical labor and perfect obedience. My university experience was a wake-up call all right. I loved it. Before I even knew what was happening, I had a group of friends and all the invitations to parties that I could ever want. It was amazing. It was lively. It was fun! One day a friend invited me to his apartment bash and I, of course, told him that I'd be there. I decided to bring my IPOD along, just in case my friend would let me hook it up to his stereo (so we could all enjoy some really good music). Well, I got to the party a little late, IPOD in tote, and started making my rounds – greeting friend and getting to know strangers. It was really fun until some guy decided to shove past me. I don’t know what his problem was, but he pushed me so hard that I went sprawling across the ground. My IPOD flew out of my hands and landed on the floor in front me – just as someone was walking by. Oh, the tragedy. My precious IPOD was crushed, simply crushed, by that monstrous foot. When I was able to collect it again, I realized that the iTOUCH screen broke. There was a rather large crack right down the IPOD window. I didn’t know how on earth I could ever get it fixed and thought I would likely have to ask my parents to buy me another one. Luckily, a friend of mine had seen what had happened. She came over and asked to take a look at my IPOD, which I grudgingly handed over. She told me it was no big deal and that she knew of a iTOUCH repair company that could fix it. She told me how to look them up online and the next thing I knew, I was paying for an IPOD repair and mailing off my IPOD. I got it a couple weeks later – good as new!
