My brother went to a high school in Bassett, Nebraska, and enjoyed playing football throughout his entire academic career. Even though he lived with our dad, my mom decided we needed to travel all the way to his school and watch his final football game when his senior year came around. So we packed up and shipped out, bring only a change of clothes for the night. Well… clothes and my IPOD. You see, I existed for the sole purpose of listening to music. It was my dream to produce it someday. To play in a band, or an orchestra. I wanted a life centered around music, and spent the majority of my free time listening to it. Anyway though, I brought along my IPOD and listened to it on the road, even throughout the game. I hate football, and the whole thing just seemed so stupid. I could understand supporting my brother… but it doesn’t mean I had to like it. I socialized with my dad and a few people I met on the bleachers, but for the most part I just lost myself in the sounds of my favorite bands. The entire game seemed to take forever but, at last, it came to an end. My brother’s team had won the final game of the season and I was really happy for him. I took out my earbuds and put my IPOD in my pocket, thinking it would be safe there while I went down to congratulate him. We talked, my parents talked, he joked around with his teammates, everybody had a really good time. We decided to go out to dinner in order to celebrate, but my parents go sidetracked with a sudden reconnection. They were standing there talking for so long that my brother and I decided to play around while we waited. He tossed me the football and I went long to catch it. I guess I just wasn’t cut out for football, though, because I tripped on my own feet and fell right onto my face. I felt something dig into my side and remembered the IPOD that I had placed there. I was groaning and trying hard not to move too much, but concern for my gadget made me flip out. I jumped up and dug the electronic out of my pocket only to realize that I had a cracked IPOD screen. It looked like I would need an LCD replacement… or some kind of repair. Needless to say, it kind of ruined my mood. I put on a strong face for my brother though – I didn’t want to ruin his special day. After dinner, however, I got on the internet in Mom’s and my hotel room and managed to find a place that repair IPODs and IPHONE display and had a really good reputation for this kind of IPOD repair stuff. The fixed my IPOD good as new and I didn’t have any more problems with it!
