When I was about seventeen years old, my mom met a man on the internet. They had been talking on one of those online dating websites and finally decided to get together in person. She drove all the way up to the next state, to visit this guy and ended up really liking him. Her next bright idea was drag the rest of the family up there too – so we piled into the car and traveled across the country to meet a complete stranger that my mom seemed so attracted to. Thankfully, things didn’t work out between my mom and this guy, so we moved back home. I had grown really attached to the IPOD and had almost all of my favorite artists stored in the memory. As things happen, we were unpacking our boxes and taking them back into the house. I hadn’t really been paying attention to where my IPOD had gone and ended up setting a big, heavy box down right on top of it. I was devastated! I had cracked the IPOD LCD monitor right down the middle of the screen! After that, I got so wrapped up in unpacking and setting up my room (all over again), that I really didn’t keep track of the time. It felt like just a few days but I’m sure it was more like a week before I got my IPOD back. Either way, it was really fast. And when I carefully unwrapped the gadget, I was very pleased to find it in mint condition. I swear, it didn’t look like anything had ever happened! It really looked as good as new.
