My friends and I used to enjoy extreme sports. Anything having to do with a skateboard or a BMX bike, we were there. We collected them and challenged each other on them. We lived, breathed, and obsessed about extreme sports. However, after high school we got caught up with our lives. The stress of college and moving out on our own took its toll. Some of my friends even moved away (you’ll never catch me outside of Delaware though, I’m loyal to my state). Almost three years after graduation though, the remaining few of us decided to get together in memory of the good old days. We brought our boards and bikes and met in the parking lot by the mall, equipped with our IPODs and a stereo system to maximize the experience. It was awesome. We were all having so much fun, daring each other to try the old tricks that we used to be so good at. I remember jumping on my board, trying to do a simple Ollie when I suddenly lost my balance. The board went up in the air as I crashed to ground – right on top of my friend’s IPOD. I managed to crack the display – which isn’t as bad as it could have been, at least. All of my bones were intact, thankfully. It was just the IPOD. My friend was gazing down at me with this look of horror on his face. I immediately got to my feet and swore that I would make it up to him. I looked over the IPOD more carefully and realized it really wasn’t such a big deal. I knew of an IPOD repair company that had gotten pretty good with IPODs and cracked IPHONE screen. In fact, I think it was safe to say the specialized in them and in IPHONE 3g repair. All they had to do was put in an IPOD LCD replacement screen. No big deal. I told my friend that things were going to be okay, I would take care of his IPOD. He kept asking me if he would have to buy another one, but I assured him that the company could replace the screen. I borrowed the IPOD from him and sent it in. The price was so much cheaper than Apple, I was really relieved. Anyway though, when they fixed it they mailed it back to my friend and things were as good as new. My buddy was really grateful and said that, if he hadn’t been right there to see the broken IPOD LCD, he never would have known. I’m glad he was so happy with it. I’m really glad I managed to get it fixed too. Next time I decide to dust off my skateboard, however, I’m going to try and make sure my area is clear. No need to flatten another IPOD!
