When I first moved to Arizona – I hated it. The place was hot and really boring. My job had offered me a significant promotion if I relocated but… it took me a long time to get used to the environment. I guess you’d call it culture shock or something because that’s exactly what it felt like: shock. Anyway, my husband had grown up in Arizona, so he loved it. He realized that I was having a hard time, however, and decided to help me take my mind off things by buying me an IPOD. It was really nice of him and I promised to give this new state a chance. I would plug in my IPOD to distract myself every time I felt myself getting depressed and overwhelmed. The idea really worked and before long, I was addicted to the convenience of constant sound. I’d listen to my music on my way to work, at the office, back home, in the grocery store, at night, even in the bathroom! I was hooked! And it really helped me adapt to my new environment too. Before long, I could actually tell people how much I loved Arizona without having to lie (or distort my face into funny expressions as I fought the desire to cry). My IPOD and I were like the best of friends. We did everything together. It got to the point that I couldn’t bear to be without it. All of my music was just so soothing – I had really come to depend on it. Well… unfortunately, the day came when I broke it. I was shuffling paper on my desk at the office, trying to organize my huge mess when I accidentally pushed it off the surface and onto the floor. Gasping as I picked it up, I assessed the damage: broken IPOD screen. I had no idea how these technical things worked, so I didn’t know if I could hire someone to do an IPOD repair or if I’d have buy a whole new LCD replacement. I decided to ask around my office, but no one knew the answer. When I got home I told my husband what had happened and he just laughed at me. He said lcd repairs for an IPOD were easy, that I only had to go online and look up a place to do it for me. I, of course, got online that night and found the perfect company. The next day I mailed in my IPOD for the 4th gen IPOD lcd repair needed and got it back the next week. I was so grateful! And so very fortunate, too. The idea of having to download all those songs all over again was not very appealing. It’s taught me a lesson too: be more careful when organizing your desk!
